First Event of 2022 Grand Chess Tour Begins in Romania

The first event of the 2022 Grand Chess Tour, Superbet Chess Classic Romania, opens in Bucharest on 4 May.  A 10-player round-robin tournament features Alireza Firouzja (2804), Fabiano Caruana (2786), Richard Rapport (2776), Ian Nepomniachtchi (2773), Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (2770), Wesley So (2766), Levon Aronian (2765), Leinier Dominguez (2753), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (2750), and Bogdan-Daniel Deac (2671).
